For this project, I was asked to design 3 public service announcements for a non-profit corporation. I chose the DNAdoeProject.org. They take DNA from deceased men and woman, known as Jane or John Does, and compare that DNA to a large database with living people's DNA. They can then, in some cases, create a family history for the unknown person. They have found the identity of over 60 people. When you take a DNA test, and upload it to GEDmatch.com, you help them solve the mysteries.
